The Path of Excess Leads To the Tower of Wisdom - Blog Version

This blog explains some of the reasons and history behind the video of the same name, I released yesterday on YouTube. I was looking at a video released by a great friend known as ConfusedGirlLA or as I would prefer to call her, by the real awesomeness of her name, Giovanna Silvestre (yes your name almost is as epic as mine).

It was a video I did not come to expect from her. It was titled Facing Your Demons, the best way out is always through. She had replaced her usual loving confident persona with a shattered emotional, honest but wounded one. It made me reflect on the simple premise, even the best of us are never immune to the vagaries of negative emotions and feelings.

I felt at the time, poor dear, wish I could comfort her. But that feeling of detachment you have when you view something online - you remove the true sort of family concern, and replace it with the distant oh that person matters, I hope they are okay. Then something unusual happened, or perhaps not. I believe the universe works some patterns out of reasoning, I was to myself endure a day - or later that night - a period of emotional turmoil. I had to look deep within myself. I did constantly think of Giovanna during my small brief nightmare, and told her I planned to write about this. I kept thinking how can I possibly learn any lessons from this awful class we attend in life, and teach or reflect to other students, how to navigate it better?

The answer to that question, sadly is... when you view my video below I believe - keep in mind the U2 song I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

I think a great lesson is, we are all students in a class called life. We need to sit and observe and try and worry less about asking too many deep questions. We want to seek the truths and feel inferior we have not mastered certain criteria. We have the lessons being taught in front of us, and we learn from each and every one. We gain something from each new learning curve, despite going home crying or feeling like the day bullied us into submission. We get back up the next morning, smile at our parents and go back to school, pushing away the fear of the day before. We want to run, we want to hide, but we know this is the stuff we are forced to do. If we do not do it, we will never pass. And I ask what exactly is the defining of passing the school of life???

I think to pass, we just simply need to leave the school, with a smile. We need to look back at the good times, and try to smell the roses along the way. We can try and push aside the time we got pushed into the rose bushes, and got pricked. We can feel gratitude for the times we made our friends lives better during class - when our friend was down we picked them up. We can reflect that we fought against the ideals of the bullies with love rather than hate. We beat them too.

We passed. We passed. We already have a certificate to be proud of by living our dreams.

After graduating this High School, I will See you all in College or University someday perhaps?

The video below is the one I made yesterday. And a link to a site to view the song that inspired the flow of creativity to actualize the content. - A wonderful clip recorded in the city of dreams where beautiful people with beautiful hearts live, but feel broken or empty. Also the link to Running To Stand Still the lyrics from the official U2 website.

Mindset Growth and Development a Powerful Tool and Skill to Encompass

When I was 16 I was leaning toward the idea of thinking outside the square, or not like most other 16 year olds would choose to think, I delved into elements of Shamanism and Dream Meanings and Spiritual themes I joined a group at the time called The Circle of Destiny, well, I did not join it was a small group of older adult like minded people that shared insight.

I would love to go into The New Moon Book Store in the city and a newsreader at the time Tom Payne (or Paine) owned it, a staff member at times was a well known Hobart Psychic and enlightened lady I learned a few lessons and gained wisdom from her, and also from the regulars who mingled at the shop.

I lost focus of all of this for far too many years and turned my back on it and more importantly turned my back on myself. How you might ask do you turn your back on yourself?
You just become a person full of fear and driven to lead a mediocre existence that you are not happy with.  Until something, or rather the choice to change - turns the back which was turned around, and places a mirror before your face, and your heart tells you softly you need to look deep within.
I saw a Louise L. Hay doco or movie where a man with chronic life threatening illnesses lost and devoid of answers asked her in a large group of men, I do not know what to do? who to turn to? who to ask for help?
I found her next act quite profound she picked up a small vanity mirror took it up to him, placed it in front of his face and quizzed him do you really want to know who to turn to?
I do not need to explain or elaborate.

The last year has seen substantial changes in both body and mind.
Too much to detail and go into but I wanted to share a theme or thought on one thing I always struggled with. I think everyone struggles with this, and some people are profoundly hurt and crippled by it.
Ever since I was a boy, I had a dream, not a dream but a wish I thought would never come true.
It may seem odd - I wished I had thicker skin.
Thicker skin to handle the life and the people in it.
Thick skin to brush off negative comments and situations.
It would dominate me and got worse in adulthood when anxiety fuelled it.
The people pleaser or person in me that expected a life where I could be happy and not upset people, just cruise through and cause no trouble be a nice good hearted human and live life.
Does that really happen?
You know the answer.

To give an example of the magnitude of my "thin skin" so to speak, if someone, even a stranger, made a negative remark to me - I would allow myself to absorb it and then like a casserole - mix it in with all the other stuff - but we are talking one made by Ronald McDonald - so this casserole had basically lard and copious amounts of salt and refined sugar... some drainage from the McDonalds fat trays after a full days making delightful meals to help mankind and plenty of white carbohydrates... with some classic iced coca-cola mixed with diet coca-cola added for taste (sarcasm).
It enlarged my waistline but exploded my mind into this lethargic dying thing that was infected with so much garbage it was toxic enough to be giving me physical symptoms.
For a long time I was on heartburn or reflux meds and vomiting from anxiety and stress, and a mess of a weak human with no hope anything would ever fix it.
An Endoscopy didn't show much just a stomach lining under pressure.
Anyway lots of that led me to change.
Nutrition was the key that changed the ballgame completely.
Improve the body the mind follows is a mantra I love to use.

The stronger I became physically the stronger the mental growth began to develop.
Only because I allowed it.
You can gain confidence but to push things forward you can never stop at that.
To cut a long story short, this video I found contains the elements I discovered largely myself recently, but this person Leo has added a whole new dimension to it.
I knew the moment I saw his first video recently he was speaking like an enlightened intelligent man that has massive mind growth and awareness.
This is a YouTube Video on How To Stop Caring What People Think Of You, I will include the link to the video from his main website as well; because I was most pleased to find out the benefits of joining and I am not promoting this person at all for any other reason than this - he has the desire to help encourage people to consider positive change. I contacted him and asked if I could share this video, and outlined my intentions why, he agreed today and said okay.
I joined for free and cannot stop downloading the mp3 audio versions and listening to them on bus journeys for added insight, and learning so much I never thought was even possible.

Like he says in another video - do not think just watching and applying this one step will count and solve life and all it's problems you need to grow substantially.
He explains himself he is barely at the level he wants to obtain and that staggered me - I thought isn't this enough? You are a powerhouse and I quickly realised No it is never enough. The moment you shut yourself off from further growth or development is the moment you raise a white flag - life flows and you never stop learning and growing with it.

You need to be open and ready to apply the concepts in the video it is very very long, in fact over 50 minutes, but in all honesty - how could he cut short a topic that requires so much depth?
Be mindful that life is not dictating terms to you, you are not controlled by any factors or trapped and hopeless.
You might think there is no hope or no way out, you may be unhappy, please always know - if you want anything badly enough - you can draw it to you and manifest whatever you choose.
That includes the people, success, happiness, wealth, abundance, career, family, relationships - peace of mind you name it you can have it.
I just made one more wise decision if you enjoyed the concept of this video I will add another profound slightly shorter one by a man who I discovered through Louise Hay.
Gregg Braden.
I only found this a few days ago when a female who decided to follow me on Twitter had this video linked to her profile description; in the simple words This video changed my life.
Enjoy any of this content be sure to plus or reshare and retweet to your heart's content - and when I say Heart I do mean the real HEART.

basic ego is ugly in fact it can destroy talent

It is almost Christmas I thought it would be a great chance to reflect on the past twelve months and what I have learned and grown from.  In fact I will share my most powerful realisation.
I have done some rapid progress made some changes improved myself, my mind, my body. My skills and my ability, also talent.  While this is all good a part of me grew unnoticed.  It was noticed by others but I failed to see it, or perhaps I was too drawn up in my own excitement and pride to consider it.  It became a fatal flaw that can turn something nice into something ugly.
It was ego or the fact I became so self absorbed and obsessed with what I had done I lost all focus on what is essential in life and relationships:  Remain humble.  Listen. Speak less.

I drove some good friends away.  It took a remarkable one during a phonecall today to hit me clean in the face with sledgehammer strength.  I adore her for this.  I used to take any criticism once upon an unenlightened time as a personal attack, and react with the defence mechanism to replace the feeling of - should I consider what this person says or does it hold any truth? Should I stand in their shoes and consider the point of view, or just dismiss it as a basic attack on me?

You gain much strength from change and when you gain self-confidence and pride you need to always keep the ego at bay. The ego only considers you.  If I called someone I did not even ask much about how they felt - what was their day like? What was happening in their lives all the things you must do to engage a vibrant healthy conversation.
Rather than inspire someone if you bombard them with how well you are doing, and how great life is, how much you have done the last year - rather than feel admiration it can turn to disdain, and they will want to end the conversation rather than continue it.

In a good person is a true LISTENER
Some people might tell you all their problems, but rather than wanting you to solve them, in many cases all they want is to have your full attention, and for you to offer the gift of listening.
If you can offer suggestions at the right times when needed and if the solutions are positive and you believe they can help the other person - talk.
Until then or if it is not needed Do Not. Rather - Listen.
And learn to dismiss the judge in you - we are all different everyone is unique and everyone has a story and a reason for doing what they do and doing things they do... the sooner you can let go of trying to judge why or putting certain people into any form of confining category the better.

I always was aware of certain elements of the Ego but I thought visually, like the guy at the gym staring in the mirror doing dumbbell curls hoping or assuming the fitness females in the area actually enjoyed this - THIS IS ALWAYS UGLY - but I did not even consider ego is much deeper.
I thought ego was the personal trainer who is ripped and he knows it. And assumes he can have any female he desires. THAT IS ALSO UGLY.
But basic ego is deeper and much more complex.

You control what you think and what you draw into your life.
How you interact with people is critical.
If you exude confidence and charm most people are appreciative but if this is soured with an attitude or a lack of character - the bad starts to over compensate the good.
You can be charming and attractive perhaps cute or super sexy but this means NOTHING IN THE GRAND SCHEME.  If you lack true HEART AND COMPASSION AND CHARACTER... if you cannot make people relate to you and you always project your image onto them without considering yourself - think of it this way - the ugly factor or the things you hate in others - is what you hate most in yourself so you must become the best person possible, and learn to love yourself but remain humble and true to life, and then life and the universe will guide the energy you project.

You can change life at any moment if you are unhappy and think this is not possible you are mistaken. But if you embrace change make it the best possible change and become the best possible soul on this earth you can be.
Shine a light so bright and vivid that it reflects in the smiles of others.
Express gratitude for every day and every moment.
Use any challenge as the mindset of - how can I use this problem as a solution?
Instead of thinking of the past or dreading the future - focus on THE NOW.
Consider meditation and do everything to help nourish and give life to your body and mind.
read and learn and move and grow.

Too many people are stagnant, stuck in a part of the sad reality of - nothing can change. Everything is hopeless.  I can never beat any problem. Things are too big. Life is too hard.  I will never become someone, I will never experience true happiness... I can never reach any level of success.
And my anxiety controls me. The past defines me.  What happened yesterday will continue to cast a shadow on tomorrow.  I can never get that "thicker skin", I will always allow others to offend me, and I will be controlled by my emotions, they will use me until I am so crippled with my fears my body will fail and my mind as well.
I will always care about what anyone thinks and says about me. I will take any criticism whatsoever as a direct attack on me and possibly even stew on it for days weeks or months.

I am here to tell you ANYONE ON THIS PLANET - does NOT have to be confined by ANY OF THE ABOVE.

anyway, Merry Christmas and may 2015 be a year of growth and personal development for anyone that seeks to pursue it
because many will and many do and the universe wants it!
Lastly to any of you who took the time to read my thoughts one word:

GRATITUDE.
